Beijing, February 2008 – ICDL China has officially launched and put in use its new ICDL Test System, upon successful completion of the recent Test System Pilot. The pilot commenced on the 7th of January and lasted for four weeks till 1st of February. It has been running smoothly under constructive cooperation and espousal from the increasing number of ICDL Test Centres. The new ICDL Test System is a real-environment exam system empowered by state-of-art technology. It consists of three parts: i) the inATES that manages the real-time testing, ii) the EliSS Online Test Administration System that which automates all test-related business processes, and iii) the Exam Manager that communicates between the EliSS and the inATES. Over 70% of the Test Centres and more than 100 Candidates have participated in the pilots and experienced the state-of-art inATES and ICDL real tests, taking around 600 tests. Approximately 65% of these Candidates have obtained the ICDL Core (for those who have passed all 7 Core modules) or Start Certificates (for those who have passed any 4 Core modules. The new ICDL Test System was welcomed and applauded by the ICDL Approved Test Centres around the country. It has received 8 out of 10 grades by nearly all Test Centres. Many ICDL Test Centres also considered the launch of the new system as well as the piloting as a golden opportunity to attract and create strong interest among candidates in the ICDL programme. As one of the Test Centre Manager said, “The new ICDL Test System is wonderfully user friendly and advanced. All processes are automated and candidates are tested in the real environment. Also the pilot has helped both our staff and candidates to gain better knowledge of the new ICDL test system and business processes so that they will be more confident in and better prepared for the ICDL tests in future.” Copyright - ICDL China 2008. |
