联合国教科文组织、联合国发展计划署在其全球所有机构推行国际电脑使用执照，率先构建内部信息化工作平台，保证了工作效率的不断提高、信息交流的畅通无阻。 UNESCO, UNDP and other international organizations have taken the lead in implementing ICDL across the board for all their global employees. Their internal information platform has ensured the continuous improvement in productivity and the free flow of information.

 

爱尔兰在过去十年中大力以科技发展促进经济进步，将提高全体人民的数字读写能力作为一项基本发展政策，各教育培训机构纷纷将ICDL作为基本IT技能标准，目前总人口中已有10%拥有国际电脑使用执照。爱尔兰经济成为当前欧洲发展“小虎”，全民参与信息社会功不可没。 Ireland has emphasized on developing its economy with technological advantages in the past years. One of its basic policies has been to raise the overall digital literacy of the Irish people. Educational / training organizations across the country have adopted ICDL as the basic IT skills standard. Over 10% of the Irish population has been awarded ICDL to date. It is the participation of all in the information society that has contributed to the “tiger” position of the Irish economy today.

The public servants and teachers are among the first ones to study and acquire ICDL, with a follow-up plan for all others in the society.

ICDL brings equal opportunities for people from different classes in the developed countries in Europe and North America; students in remote regions from India to Zimbabwe have been able to explore the study and work opportunities in a broader area with their popular ICDL certificates; people with special needs from New Zealand to Greece are starting their boundless new lives with the confidence and equal opportunities that they have acquired together with their ICDL. In 2006, Finnish candidate, mother of three children, Ms. Niina Aarnio won the global ECDL Foundation Award for having a life-changing experience with ICDL under very difficult situations.
